Well, todays comic was late, but its not my fault!
Damn crappy ISP drops my connection often and in this last case, for two days straight! I had to wait until they opened for business Monday to get some support to get my connection back. Then I find that WebcomicsNation has been down repeatedly over the weekend. Ah, well.
We've got an install kit coming for another ISP that should be much more stable. That would be nice...

Real wizard and nice guy.
One of the nice people to take the time to give 'The Sergeant and Professor Skeary Winslow' a little thumbs up is Azzerac who is the author of "Steal This Book of Shadows", my current favorite text on occult practice by far. Azzerac does a fine job stripping out what I feel is needless crap and armwaving and just gets down to it. He also gets that there are multiple ways of comprehending and relating to the occult and addresses this admirably.
Understand that it has nothing to do with comics, whatsoever. Although I could see a character modeled on Azzerac appearing in a 'John Constantine: Hellblazer' story.
If you have any interest in what real live witches and wizards are about, check it out. It is a feature on lodestoneandladysmantle. where you can buy supplies like incenses and oils and such.
Anyway, I like 'em.

More 'splainin'
I apologize profusely to those of you who went looking for a new page of the comic on Monday the 21st.
Here is what happened:
1. I decided a series of four pages would be much improved if completely reworked into three and found myself starting over on these pages. Sure enough, they are far better, if somewhat rushed.
2. Living very near nowhere, (Skull Valley is just over the mountain from me, seriously) ISP reliability is a bit spotty. Unless you have megabucks to throw at satellite. A strong wind can cause me to lose my connection. Again, seriously.
3. actually, no problem so far. Despite several time impositions and the minimal commitment to 'the real world', everything was on track and nearly back on schedule. Then I became violently ill.
Much better now, thanks, but WHAM! Down for about two days with a half hour's worth of prep work prior to posting page 23.
Best I can figure, I ate way to much French-bread pizza loaded with a handfull of different cheese varieties and pepperoni and thick with the sauce to late at night after not really eating all day.
After about six hours and for the next couple days I suffered all of the effects of binge drinking without the fun parts. I became familiar with the acoustics of the toilet bowl, was only able to catch sleep in twenty minute intervals between serenading the commode, and squinted through a dehydration headache. I also gained empathy for the computer, HAL 9000, from '2001: A space Odyssey' as I can now relate to what it feels like as one mind slows and loses full functionality. (shiver) NOT cool. Electrolyte balance good, alternative bad.
So, to those of you who were put out by the tardiness of the last update: You may take satisfaction in knowing that I did not enjoy it one bit. No sir.

Some 'splaining to do
OK. I have been absent for way to long. But a lot has been happening.
A little while back, I was invited to post some samples from the comic on a new webcomic social site based in Milan called Oltrecomics. I was even more flattered when I saw the quality of the other stuff there! WOW. A large percentage of the work there so far (it is still relatively new) is definitely pro caliber. Otrecomics is not a typical webcomic site in that it does not have full webcomics but rather modestly sized galleries the site calls 'articles' of up to ,I think, nine images per article. More like a really nice looking index with samples and some very friendly and warm forums. Do check it out if you haven't seen it yet.
